THE ENERGY "POWER UP" AGAINST THE BRAWLERS!

The Northern Penn ENERGY became the first team EVER to defeat the Bayshore BRAWLERS (or as they were known during their 2006 Undefeated PFL/6 Chapmpionship Season, the
Aberdeen Bayshore Celtics). When the clock finally hit zero, the ENERGY walked off the field with a 37-25 victory. The BRAWLERS made the 3-hour trip ("...a THREE HOUR trip...") and played four quarters worth of hard-nosed football in the 100 degree heat. But in the end the BRAWLERS were unable to work their patented magic in order to pull out the win. The ENERGY, excuse the pun, walked onto MYO Field at the outset of the game fully energized. Their offense was lead by QB Kenny Acker who was able to run and pass the ball for several ENERGY scores. The defense of the ENERGY constantly pressured QBs Fred Leo & Frank Susino, while their defensive line and linebackers created what would seem like a brick wall that kept the BRAWLERS from establishing a running game.

A special shout-out needs to be sent to the eight BRAWLERS players who made the trip, endured the heat and the numerous times each person played out of position. The BRAWLERS' Dave Strollo, who some would call the "grandfather of the PFL/6," played both ways! On "D" he had numerous tackles, and on the "O"-side, he did his thing on the offensive line. Rookies Stephon Hickson and John Hartman stepped up by making big play catches. And, throughout the whole game, kept on sticking people on defense. Frank Susino, David "Spanky" Morera, Bill Lawton, and especially Antoine Tolbert played exceptionally well, but BRAWLERS' "Hard Nose Award" would have to be given to Fred Leo the DB/WR/QB/KR and really anything else you wanted to add their to his resume of positions played. He broke numerous tackles at the QB spot, caught passes, defended the Energy's wide receivers, and had huge kickoff returns. Will Smith, who traveled over 3 hours from NYC, came in the 4th Quarter and did everything in his power to help on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball. Unlike during the '06 campaign, all of it, while top-shelf play, was just not enough on this day.

The ENERGY, who are the PFL/6's Southern Division's Top Team will stay at home and face the Susquehanna Valley STALLIONS, in what is being dubbed "The Founders Bowl." The Bayshore BRAWLERS will return to the Laurence Harbor Little League Complex and face off against the expansion Sunbury DEVILS who, after some big scoring this week, are supremely hungry for win #1!
