Thunder Continue Perfect Season as Brawlers Fumble Away First Place.
In a game that featured only 6 first downs total (2 for the Thunder and 4 for the Brawlers), both teams knew that it would be a hard hitting defensive battle. Neither team however, could have expected that the 10 turnovers combined would decide the winner. Whether it was the wet football or the overpowering rushing lineman, the Thunder lineman spent most of the game in the Brawler backfield led by John Williams with 8 total on 2 solo and 6 assists and William Deiter with 8 total on 4 solo, 4 assists, 2 sacks and 2 huge fumble recoveries resulting in 2 touchdowns. Highlighting the Brawler defense, who were even stingier on their own side, giving up a meager 75 total yards of offense, with the power of Stephon Hickson having 8 total tackles including 2 sacks.
The game being played, throughout three quarters with no rain started off with 3 straight 4 and outs. The Brawlers then broke through first on a third and goal from the one on a run by Sy Patterson who was held to a low 23 yards on 20 attempts. Returning the score was a Dorshimer to Warren td pass of 29 yards which ended up being Dorshimer’s last pass of the game, injuring his ankle on a free play, due to a Brawler penalty, before the successful extra point run by Warren, his replacement. In the second it was Patterson again breaking tackles for a 9 yard score but this is where Deitmer, known to his teammates as “Freek”, took over. After Billy Smith of the Thunder fumbled the snap recovered by Mike Delafuente, the very next play, Manny Foy dropped the ball at his own 25 yard line and Dieter scooped it up and scampered all the way to paydirt. That made the halftime score 13-12 Thunder.
To open the third the Brawlers drove the ball from their own 22 to the Thunder 7 however, on a 3 rd and goal, Patterson under threw Marcus Haynes and was picked off by Nathan Fry to end the threat. After a four and out by the Thunder, their defense rose again as it was the “Freek” recovering a fumble in the endzone for an apparent touchdown. Many thought the ball had passed out the back of the endzone but, after a referee discussion, the call held and after a Clark conversion run the Thunder went up 20-12. The Brawlers continued to shoot themselves in the foot as Patterson fumbled the ball on the next offensive series at his own 18 which was recovered by Fry. 5 plays later, Kevin Warren scampered in from 2 yards out to make it 26-12. Down but, not out the Brawlers, who many say play their best football when the chips are down, took the first possession of the 4 th quarter and Foy hooked up with Patterson on a 24 yard touchdown strike. After a Frank Susino sack on 4 th and long the Brawlers took over on offense again and turned it into points as Patterson found Susino in the back corner for a 22 yard td catch. The conversion failed once more leaving the score 26-24 Thunder. After a 4 and out by the Thunder, the Brawlers had one last chance however a Dieter sack and a game saving foot tackle by Bodner prevented Patterson from picking up the first down, 3 yards shy on a 4 th and 25. Final score, Thunder 26, Brawlers 24.
Leading the Thunder on offense was Kevin Warren with 28 yards rushing on 10 carries and a TD. Leading the receivers was Warren with 29 yards and a TD. Smith and Warren also each had a completion at QB. For the Brawlers, Manny Foy went 7 for 16 for 85 yards with one TD. Patterson led all receivers with four catches, 63 yards and a TD.

Thunder Strike Down Brawlers with Last Second Effort
In a hard fought battle, the Thuder pulled out the win against the Brawlers to reamin undefeated. This was a game that was close right up to the bitter end.
The half time score was 14-14. In the second half, the Brawlers held a 26-22 lead with 2 minutes left to play. The Thunder then took over at the Brawler's one yard line, for the third time in the game, on a penalty. Punching it in they took the lead 28-26. On the next possession, the Brawlers threw an interception down at the Thunder 9 yard line. This seemed to be the end for the Brawlers.
HOWEVER...ALL WAS NOT LOST! THE THUNDER FUMBLED ON THE NEXT SNAP. THE BRAWLERS RECOVER ON THE NINE YARD-LINE. THE BRAWLERS ON FIRST AND SECOND DOWN THREW INCOMPLETE PASSES. ON THIRD DOWN THE THUNDER PICKED OFF THE BALL AND RETURNED IT FOR A TOUCHDOWN. MAKING THE SCORE 34-26, THUNDER.
THE BRAWLERS WOULD TAKE OVER WITH 8 SECONDS LEFT ON THEIR OWN 5 YARD-LINE. ON THE FIRST PLAY THE SNAP WAS FUMBLED IN THE END ZONE WHERE THE THUNDER RECOVERED FOR THE FINAL SCORE OF THE GAME MAKING IT 40-26 THUNDER.

New Divisons and New Teams
The Brawlers will be in the Eastern Division which will feature only one returning PFL/6 team the Middletown Maniax. Included in the division are as follows:
Palmyra Raptors- Located near Hershey Pennsylvania around 2hr 30min trip from New Jersey
Downingtown Freedom- Located near West Chester PA, Chester County.
Elizabethtown Stingrays - Located in Lancaster County and approximently 20 miles away from Lancaster.
Wilkes Barre Sharks- One of the largest cities, if not the largest, to have a PFL/6 team. Should provide some excellent media and marketing additions to the league.
